Defense Minister holds separate meetings with Italian and Austrian ambassadors 

Skopje, 5 February 2025 (MIA) - Minister of Defense Vlado Misajlovski held separate meetings Wednesday with the new Italian Ambassador to North Macedonia, Paolo Palminteri, and Austrian Ambassador Martin Pammer.

According to the Ministry of Defense, Misajlovski welcomed the new Italian Ambassador and highlighted the Ministry’s commitment to the development of the cooperation in defense between the two NATO countries.

“The high degree of implementation of the activities from last year’s Bilateral Defense Cooperation Plan and the hard work on this year’s plan, expected to be signed in March, is proof that we have shared goals, that we cooperate on the highest level and that we are fully committed to the promotion of all areas of defense,” Misajlovski said at the meeting, according to a press release by the Defense Ministry.

In the context of the procurement of army helicopters produced by Italian company Leonardo, Minister Misajlovski requested assistance for a joint and transparent resolution of all inherited legal shortcomings at the highest level, the Ministry said.

At the meeting with the Austrian Ambassador to North Macedonia, Martin Pammer, Minister Misajlovski expressed readiness to support and implement the new Bilateral Defense Cooperation Plan with Austria, which includes a wide array of activities in different areas.

“We value our cooperation that can always be further promoted and developed. Through our joint defense cooperation, we are developing and strengthening the defense capabilities of our countries, thereby strengthening security,” Misajlovski said.
